Why was Captain America able to hold Stormbreaker if in Infinity War Thor said mortals could not hold such weapon?

Why was Captain America able to hold Stormbreaker if in Infinity War Thor said mortals could not hold such weapon?

Here’s what Thor says about Stormbreaker (and general, powerful dwarven weaponry) in Infinity War:

“You simply lack the strength to wield them. Your bodies would crumble as your minds collapsed into madness.”

The operative word here is wield, which dictionary.com defines as “to use (a weapon, instrument, etc.) effectively; handle or employ actively“.

Holding Stormbreaker is not the same as wielding. Watch the clip from Endgame again; Steve simply holds the axe for a second and makes no attempt to use its power.

I could make the argument that Steve doesn’t quite count as a mortal anymore - after all, whoever wields Mjolnir shall possess the power of Thor - but it doesn’t matter for this question

WHY DID DOCTOR STRANGE NOT BATTLE THANOS (AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR) IN THE MIRROR DIMENSION?

DURING THE FINAL ACT OF INFINITY WAR, WHEN THANOS ARRIVES AND SYSTEMATICALLY BEATS DOWN EACH OF THE HEROES ON HIS WAY TO VISION, WHY DOES IT TAKE SO LONG FOR THOR TO ARRIVE AT THE LOCATION?
