It’s not Doomsday.

It’s not Surtur.

It’s not Steppenwolf.

It’s not Thanos.

It’s Dormammu. Quite easily at that.

He was stated to have consumed countless worlds and dimensions.

He constantly feeds on entire universes to nourish himself.

He is the single most powerful being in the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even Thanos with the Infinity Gauntlet doesn’t hold a candle.

The Infinity Gauntlet has enough power to destroy a universe and even create an entirely new one.

However, Thanos with all 6 Infinity Stones would have been utterly crushed in a contest of raw power. Dormammu transcends space and time beyond our singular universe.

In other words, he’s a freak of nature. Thanos wouldn’t have been able to rival the power output Dormammu presented. The physical toll on his body would have killed him before that even happened.

You see those severe burn marks on his skin?

That’s his physical condition after wiping out half of all carbon life forms in the universe. Not including parts of the universe itself, like entire planets or galaxies.

Just members of a respective species.

Now, imagine what would happen if he faced off against an entity more powerful than our entire dimension. He wouldn’t stand a chance.

The only argument you could make is if Thanos used the Time Stone just like Strange did back then…creating a time loop that would have lasted forever.

But that doesn’t make him anywhere near more powerful than Dormammu. Remember that despite preventing Dormammu from invading Earth, Strange was killed thousands of times before that even happened.

Thousands.

Doctor Strange, the prophesized most powerful master of the mystic arts, being treated like nothing more than a fly.

Thanos may be universal in power with the stones, but Dormammu is beyond even that.

One notable fact about Dormammu is that he never was actually defeated. Just repelled. He is one of the few villains in the MCU to still be on the loose.

Somewhere out there in the multiverse, Dormammu is feeding on entire dimensions like it’s a cosmic buffet, growing his expanding army of Mindless Ones.

He isn’t just the most powerful villain. He is quite possibly the most powerful being in both the MCU and DCEU.

Dormammu is the undisputed champion of both cinematic universes when it comes to raw power.

Edit: So I realize there’s some contention on Dormammu being more than universal.

I’m a bit hesitant to resort to dimensional-tiering, but for your sakes, I’ll just leave this here:

A canon MCU handbook explicitly stating that Dormammu has absorbed countless dimensions and realities into his home domain. He literally wants to make the multiverse his personal snack shack.

There’s also Wong’s statement in Doctor Strange, stating him as a “being of infinite power and endless hunger on a quest to invade every universe and bring all worlds into his Dark Dimension.”

So…checkmate.
