If Tony was alive after snapping and saving the whole Universe, would he be worthy of Mjolnir?
Let's settle this once and for all. I've seen too many questions asking about this.
Sacrifices are NOT what make you worthy.
There I said it.
Thanos sacrificed his beloved daughter Gamora, do you think he's worthy?
Loki sacrificed his life, do you think he's worthy?
Black Widow and Hawkeye both tried to sacrifice themselves, do you think they're worthy?
Nebula killed her past self, do you think she's worthy?
Yondu sacrificed himself for Star-Lord, do you think he's worthy?
I sacrificed a few sleeping hours to write answers on Quora, do you think I'm worthy?
As noble as the aforementioned characters (except me) are, and as tear-jerking as those scenes may be, none of them are worthy of Mjolnir.
The same goes for Tony. He's a great hero, he's selfless, he put his own life on the line, etc. But those traits alone are not enough to make him worthy.
For one, I still find him arrogant.
And I believe I remember telling all of you, alive and otherwise, that what we needed was a suit of armor around the world, remember that? Whether it impacted our precious freedoms or not. That's what we needed.
Ok, Tony, I understand that you wanted to save the world, and I know how frustrated you were when Thanos won. But the last time you tried to employ robots around the world to protect the Earth from threats, the robots themselves became the threats.
And that's why I don't think Tony possesses the traits that would make one worthy.
And in case you still don't agree, please remember that Tony nearly sacrificed himself in the Battle of New York,
And yet he wasn't even able to nudge Mjolnir in Avengers: Age of Ultron.
See?
Imagine Tony walking up to Odin and saying, “hey Hannibal, I'm worthy. Let me use your son's hammer.” Do you think Odin will regard him as worthy?
At the end of the day, Tony is one of the best superheroes. Yet, he's not worthy of Mjolnir.
